Purpose Statement The job of Assistant Coordinator was established for the purpose/s of assisting the Director in maintaining a comprehensive Aquatic enrichment program for staff, students, and community members. Responsibilities include but are not limited to creating a fun, safe, learning environment that delivers an effective programs and activities model. This job reports to the Aquatic Center Director Essential Functions
• Adheres to District personnel guidelines (e.g. maintains self-control and composure, uses positive approach with adults and children. Refrain from personal cellular telephone use and working on personal items while on District time, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining a positive, safe, learning environment.
• Administers, first aid and assistance for the purpose of providing appropriate care.
• Assists in event set up and performs daily cleaning responsibilities.
• Assists coordinating special activities, manages programs, and outside user groups while ensuring a safe, clean, and effective learning environment.
• Assists in preparing a variety of reports and documents (e.g., lesson plans, newsletters, evaluations, letters, observations, etc.) for the purpose of communicating information at the appropriate level to help foster a culture of success.
• Assists the Aquatic Director in implementing new registration, scheduling software, and clerical programs to assist in overall work efficiency.
• Communicates effectively through email, by phone and in person.
• Conducts routine in-service meeting and trainings for Front desk staff.
• Demonstrates responsibility to manage staff scheduling, meetings, and continues training.
• Greets patrons, understand program offerings, and answer questions related to Aquatic Center programs.
• Helps organize special events, manage large groups, and assist in organizing programs.
• Keeps accurate count of petty cash on hand and cash in the concession stand register.
• Opens and closes facility
• Maintains a variety of files and records for the purpose of documenting activities, providing information, and complying with program and District guidelines.
• Manages day-to-day facility operation.
• Operates the in person and online program registration/booking system, answer customer inquiries, complaints, and reporting them as appropriate to the Aquatic Center Director.
• Promotes good habits, self-discipline, and self-help activities in an effort to improve the quality of programming while encouraging positive participant development.
• Provides supervision for supporting the effective and efficient function of staff and programs.
• Represents the Director in his/her absence ensuring the efficient and effective functions of the operation continues to meet the needs of our students, community, and staff.
• Submits work orders for any operation deficiencies, equipment damage or maintenance needs to delay interruptions in service and operation efficiency.
• Supervises employees, volunteers, patrons and others for the purpose of creating a safe, clean, learning environment for all.

• Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

Working Environment The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 30% sitting, 40% walking, and 30% standing. The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and under conditions with some exposure to risk of injury and/or illness.
