TITLE: MAINTENANCE HELPER - HVAC TYPE: Non-Union Cycle III Salary: Per the Terms of Employment for Non-Union Personnel, Cycel III WORK SCHEDULE: Up to 20 hours per week REPORTS TO: Director of Maintenance and Assistant Director of Maintenance OBJECTIVE: We are looking for a dedicated HVAC Helper to assist our licensed HVAC Technician while improving their own skills. The responsibilities of an HVAC Helper include completing all tasks assigned by the HVAC Technician, which may include assisting with installations, troubleshooting, repairs, and air flow, and air conditioning systems and equipment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Learning from the Craftsmen and completing all assigned duties.
• Assist with identifying, analyzing, troubleshooting, and assisting with repairs of equipment and HVAC faults.
• Assist with interpreting blueprints and schematics.
• Assist with installing, servicing, and fixing roof units for heating and air conditioning systems.
• Assist with determining the proper hand tools and equipment for completing HVAC installation and repairs and carrying out various maintenance duties.
• Assist with repair and replacement of air ducts.
• Assist with tools, equipment, and supplies from the project site according to orders.
• Assist with performing preventative maintenance on HVAC systems and associated equipment.
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Training, and Experience
• A high school diploma or a currently enrolled CTE program.
• Vocational training may be advantageous.
• Willingness to learn on the job, go through training, and earn a qualification as an HVAC Technician.
• Adept at using the basic tools of the trade.

• He/she must be able to take direction and have the ability to communicate effectively with his/ her supervisor.
• Applicants must also be able to climb and work from a ladder, and be comfortable working with heights.
• HVAC Helpers are also required to be able to lift heavy materials, bend repeatedly, and be able to work with hand and power tools safely.

• Physical Requirements: Must be physically able to operate a variety of equipment including computers, copiers, adding machines, etc. Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, and pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Must be able to stand, crouch and bend over for a long period of time at intervals throughout the day.
