About this role
Bensalem Township School District is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support a general education classroom with a focus on literacy and student learning at Faust Elementary for the 2026-2027 school year. The Teaching Assistant will work under the direction of certified staff to provide individual and small-group instructional support, reinforce literacy skills, assist with classroom activities, and help students remain engaged and successful in their learning. QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum of 48 college credits, an associate degree, PA-approved certification, or higher.
• Experience working with elementary-age students preferred.
• Experience supporting reading, writing, phonics, or other literacy skills preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with students individually and in small groups.
• Ability to follow teacher direction and work collaboratively as part of a classroom team.
• Ability to maintain a positive, supportive, and professional classroom environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
• Provide individual and small-group support in reading, writing, phonics, and other literacy activities.
• Reinforce skills and concepts taught by the classroom teacher.
• Assist students with independent work and guided practice.
• Support classroom instruction and student engagement.
• Help students stay on task and develop positive learning habits.
• Assist with classroom activities, instructional materials, and student supervision.
• Monitor student progress and communicate observations to the classroom teacher.
• Support students during literacy centers, intervention activities, and other instructional settings.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
