About this role
Title: Information Technology Director Primary Function: Monitors and manages the local and wide area networks of the District; maintains the operation and health of the District directory database system; ensures that all District server systems are current and operable, performs confidential administration of District email and Internet access systems. Provides leadership, long-range planning, management, and support in all areas of information technology for the district. Performs responsibilities necessary to accomplish objectives deemed necessary by the Board of Education. Directly Responsible to: Superintendent of Schools Desired Qualifications:
• Three of the following certifications: CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, A+, Win Se-2K1G, 2 & 22, MCP, CCNA, CompTIA Server+.
• Five years relevant IT experience.
• Ability to demonstrate continued new knowledge as needed.
• Such alternatives as the board may find appropriate and acceptable.
• Demonstrated excellent skills in oral and written communication, leadership, team building, assessment and evaluation of programs, teams and individuals; and communicating technical information on a non-technical level.
• Working knowledge of strategic planning, collaborative problem solving methods, budget development, software applications, and research and evaluation of technology, including hardware, software, and applications.
• Other qualifications deemed necessary by the Board of Education
• Follows Modern IT standards and best practices. Another IT professional should be able to step in and easily take-over/manage your implementation.
• Experience with systems such as:
? Virtualization of Servers (Hyper-V specific). ? VDI solutions such as VMWare View, Terminal Server, nComputing, etc. ? Enterprise wireless deployments. ? GoogleWorkspace
• Experience with Systems such as Microsoft 0365, Admin and Azure
? Network Wiring standards and best practices. ? Experience with enterprise networking; Cisco, HP Aruba, Unifi, etc. ? Enterprise Server solutions: Active Directory, Web servers, User Account Management, Databases, HTML, DNS, DHCP, E-Mail, Backup Solutions, etc., WSUS, NMS, NAS, VMs, Rostering & data validation ? Troubleshooting skills ? VOIP systems. ? Experience with repair of computers and printers Performance responsibilities:
• Install, configure and support all district servers and network infrastructure. This position will also identify necessary hardware and software upgrades and plan for the deployment of these upgrades.
• Will provide project planning, coordination, and implementation services for all technology related projects.
• Will provide knowledge and input on current and future processes and procedures, and will look to improve these processes and procedures through the use of technology.
• Will monitor the district help desk system and complete any support requests that fall under their job scope. This individual will also provide a problem escalation path for all district technology staff as necessary.
• Will be required to keep informed of current I market trends and developments. This will be accomplished through continued education in the form of online research, certification preparation and fulfillment, and training courses offered by the district or other outside parties.
• Will coordinate the development and implementation of the district's three-year technology plan, and any other state-mandated plans/projects. This position will also fulfill any paperwork requirement pertaining to technology.
• This position will monitor and maintain all areas of security including resource access, policies, and governmental compliance.
Terms of Employment/Pay Twelve (12) months per year Salary Range 52,000 to 70,000 Depending on Experience Evaluations: Performance of this job will be based on the board's policy on evaluation. Updated: September 2026
