Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (NTE) One Year (TOTAL OF 3 Years) by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted. This position may be made permanent without further competition. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service that includes providing technical advice and training on the maintenance, repair, and sustainment of complex military equipment systems while analyzing logistics and technical problems affecting equipment readiness, developing solutions, and coordinating with multiple organizations or Partner Nations in support of an Area of Responsibility (AOR). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Customer Service Oral Communication Planning and Evaluating Problem Solving Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
Major DutiesServes as a Lead Sustainment Master Technician (Forward) providing expert technical advice, training, and sustainment support on complex military equipment systems to U.S. and Partner Nation forces within the Area of Responsibility (AOR)Analyzes and resolves complex technical and logistics problems affecting equipment readiness; identifies root causes and implements corrective actions.Develops and delivers technical training to U.S. military, civilian, and Partner Nation personnel on equipment maintenance and sustainment procedures.Coordinates with sustainment organizations, commodity commands, and Partner Nations to ensure effective logistics support across the AOR.Monitors equipment readiness status, prepares technical reports/briefings for leadership, and recommends improvements to sustainment programs.
