You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) developing broad command policies, procedures, and guidelines as they apply to medical readiness, medical system acquisition, and medical logistics; 2) reviewing and analyzing safety and occupational health data to assess the effectiveness of the safety and occupational health program; AND 3) providing consultation and advice on safety and occupational health program management. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Major DutiesDevelops broad command policies, procedures, and guidelines as they apply to medical readiness.Develops, implements and oversees action plans to correct deficiencies and improve outcomes.Reviews and analyzes safety and occupational health data to assess the effectiveness of the safety and occupational health program.Evaluates the broad and varied command accident, injury and illness prevention and safety program through establishment and implementation of risk assessments.Evaluates the qualifications and competencies of all safety and occupational health professionals to provide recommendations for necessary training and education.Provides consultation and advice to major subordinate commands on safety and occupational health program management.Represents the command on technical committees developing general plans and procedures for carrying out research and experimental projects.
