Strengthening Expertise in Fiscal Representation At NLD, maintaining a high level of expertise in fiscal representation is essential to ensuring compliance, managing risk, and supporting our clients effectively. To further strengthen this capability, our team recently participated in a two-part training focused on the practical and regulatory aspects of fiscal representation. Over the course of two sessions, participants deepened their understanding of VAT deferment on import, the role and responsibilities of the fiscal representative, and the risks that are often underestimated in daily operations. The training provided clear insight into how these elements interact within the broader logistics and compliance framework. A key focus was the importance of aligned collaboration with our clients. Commercial agreements, operational execution, and fiscal responsibilities must seamlessly connect to ensure a compliant and efficient process. Misalignment in any of these areas can lead to significant risks, both operationally and fiscally. The sessions also addressed common points of failure in practice. By examining where processes can go wrong and what the consequences may be, the training highlighted the critical importance of accurate documentation, clear agreements, and robust administrative processes. Proper handling of VAT returns, ICP declarations, and INTRASTAT reporting remains a cornerstone of compliant operations. By continuously investing in knowledge and development, NLD ensures that our teams remain well-equipped to navigate the complexities of fiscal representation and deliver reliable, compliant solutions to our clients.
