Software Engineer C++ (SMU team) Software, Cyber & Services Hengelo Full time Location: Hengelo, Netherlands About Thales: Thales designs highly advanced radar systems and optical sensors that are part of a complete and integrated defense system. The product portfolio ranges from small portable radars for applications such as border or object surveillance to complex four-dimensional radars capable of detecting small objects at distances from hundreds up to thousands of kilometers. Within the software department, the Sensor Processing group is responsible for software development of the optimal control and digital processing functions within the sensors. This work is carried out in multidisciplinary teams collaborating with specialists in system engineering, functional sensor design, and the design and implementation of real-time systems. About the job: Within this Sensor Processing group, the complete radar software is developed. This includes various domains such as controlling the radar systems, organizing radar transmissions, and processing the digital information stream. The ultimate goal is to detect and classify specific objects, such as aircraft and drones, track them, and display them on an operator console. The software architecture is designed to be highly modular and supports the development of robust and evolutionary systems. Development takes place in Agile teams supported by a modern development toolchain. The teams themselves are responsible for the ongoing development and maintenance of the architecture, the toolchain, and the Agile process.
