1 University Assistant Predoctoral (all genders welcome)-Kennung 505/26 Your responsibilities - what awaits you: º Research in one of the following three domains: - Machine learning (e.g., with application to communication systems, or energy systems, or biomedical/healthcare systems, or computer vision) - Communication systems and signal processing (e.g., wireless communications, power line communications, communication and sensing) - Electronic based systems (e.g., circuits and systems for communications) The topic will be carefully tailored to match the candidate's background, expertise, and research interests. º Independent research with the aim to submit a dissertation and acquire the doctoral degree / Ph.D. º Teaching in the field of electrical and computer engineering º Participation in administrative and organisational tasks of the department º Student mentoring º Assistance in public relations activities of department and faculty Your profile and requirements: º The completion of a university degree (Master or Diplom-Ingenieur) at a domestic or foreign higher education institution in the field of electrical engineering, information and communications engineering, computer engineering, or closely related fields º Fluent in written and spoken English º Experience in three or more of the following fields: machine learning, signal/data processing, communications theory, information theory, circuits and systems theory, control theory, wireless communications, power line communications, smart grids º Completed courses or projects in the degree program in the specified research domains º Academic theses in one of the specified research domains º A solid foundation in both engineering mathematics and statistics º Programming skills, one or more among: C/C++, Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, GNU radio, VHDL, HFSS, CST, ADS º Ability to present with clarity and rigour a technical subject This distinguishes you additionally: º Knowledge of German º Good social, team work and communication competences º First research contributions (in the thesis, with participation in research projects and/or publications) º Relevant international experience Application: º via our https://jobs.aau.at/en/job/university-assistant-predoctoral-all-genders-welcome-2 / under the reference code 505/26 no later than October 14, 2026.
