Overview: One of the biggest banks in the European Union is seeking a Cobol Developer to help the team that is developing a system that is a vital legacy platform that processes several million of daily transactions, enabling settlement and delivery of client instructions on the UK market and maintaining accurate client ‑ account positions. What will you do? Translate business needs into clear technical specs and develop/maintain legacy COBOL code. Use AI ‑ assisted tools to understand, refactor, and safely modify impacted components. Build and keep unit/integration test suites; support acceptance ‑ test planning and execution. Support the team in adopting modern tooling – introduce AI ‑ driven data validation, CI/CD pipelines, and advanced monitoring to enhance system security and performance. Document changes, manage version control, and ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards. What are we looking for? 4+ years of relevant professional experience Expertise in Microfocus COBOL Familiarity with PowerHouse (4GL) and/or Eloquence (Marxmeier) technologies. Hands ‑ on experience with DevOps tools (e.g., Ansible, ToolChain) and Git version ‑ control. Background in the financial sector. Experience working in Agile environments Fluent in English.
