Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Noisy. Dusty. Hot. Work setting: Relocation costs not covered by employer. Tasks: Record manufacturing information such as quantity, size and type of goods produced. Operate finishing machines to grind, drill, sand, bevel, decorate, wash or polish glass or glass products. Set up and adjust glass and glass product finishing machines. Visually inspect products for quality. Set up or adjust automatic glass feeding, flowing and forming machines. Weigh, measure and check production samples to assess conformance to specifications. Cut glass along marked outlines or around pattern using hand tools. Examine and mark defective glass to obtain the best cut. Heat, anneal, temper or form float glass or glass products. Operate process control machinery to cut glass or assemble glass window units. Place pattern on or under glass for cutting. Place sheet of glass on padded table or in jig and measure and mark glass. Smooth rough edges using belt sander or smoothing wheels. Operate machines and equipment. Operate and set up machines to perform repetitive machining operations. Equipment and machinery experience: Hand tools.
