About this role
Education: Bachelor's degree. Tasks: Supervise technologists, technicians and other engineers and scientists. Conduct studies on the properties of materials and characteristics of materials. Design, develop and specify processes for moulding, forming and thermal treatment of metals, alloys, ceramics and other materials. Conduct chemical and physical analytical studies, failure analyses and operational testing, and recommend materials and corrosion control measures. Co-ordinate production testing and control of metal refining, smelting or foundry operations. Conduct research into the properties, composition and production of materials such as ceramics and composite materials. Type of product: Glass or ceramic products. Area of work experience: Research and development. Area of specialization: Ceramic or porcelain application. Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years.
