About this role
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Optional accommodation available at no charge on a live-in basis. Note: This is NOT a condition of employment. Work in employer's/client's home. Tasks: Change diapers. Sterilize bottles and prepare formulas. Assume full responsibility for household in absence of parents. Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties. Bathe, dress and feed infants and children. Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home. Prepare and serve nutritious meals. Prepare infants and children for rest periods. Supervise and care for children. Tend to emotional well-being of children. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Personal suitability: Initiative. Judgement. Reliability. Patience. Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year. Support for newcomers and refugees: Does not require Canadian work experience. Support for youths: Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth. Support for Indigenous people: Facilitates access to Elders who can offer support and guidance to Indigenous workers .
