About this role
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year. Tasks: Supervise staff, trainees or volunteers. Assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children. Order supplies and equipment. Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits. Submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors. Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children. Supervise and co-ordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants. Supervise staff or team. Supervise crew members. Co-ordinate and schedule activities. Supervise and co-ordinate activities of workers. Experience with special needs children: Children who are blind or visually impaired. Children with a physical disability. Children with an intellectual disability. Children with behavioural issues. Children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or attention deficit disorder (ADD). Autistic children.
