Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Various locations. Residential. Tasks: Install machinery. Repair and maintain machinery. Assist in inspection of mechanical installations and construction projects. Assist in preparing design, drawings and specifications. Assist in the design of moulds, tools, dies, jigs and fixtures. Carry out a limited range of mechanical tests and analyses of machines, components and materials. Estimate costs and materials. Prepare and interpret engineering design, drawings and specifications. Prepare contracts and tenders. Test machines and equipment. Area of specialization: Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence.
