About this role
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: At heights. Outdoors. Work setting: Construction. Various locations. High-rise building construction sites. Tasks: Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements. Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools. Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials. Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems. Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages. Utilize hand and power tools. Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks shoring and barricades. Build and repair wooden frames used to mould concrete products. Ensure safety procedures are followed. Determine materials required. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Working at heights training. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding.
