Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Tasks: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials. Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Perform preventive maintenance. Receive and relay information to central dispatch. Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : AZ class license. Documentation knowledge: Accident or incident reports. Driver logbook. Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip). Maintenance and repair reports. Trip reports. Type of trucking and equipment: Tractor-trailer. Communication systems experience: Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment. Security and safety: Driver's validity licence check. Driving record check (abstract). Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Sitting. Weight handling: Up to 9 kg (20 lbs). Experience: Experience an asset. Support for newcomers and refugees: Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports newcomers and/or refugees. Assists with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and/or refugees (for example: housing, transportation, storage, childcare, winter clothing, etc.). Supports social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees (for example: facilitating access to community resources, language training, skills training, etc.). Recruits newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster (for example: Ukraine, Afghanistan, etc.) . Supports for visible minorities: Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports members of visible minorities.
