About the Role:
We are looking for Child and Youth volunteers to support the delivery of quality instruction and ensure exceptional service in our programs. This role may lead one or more YMCA programs - including basketball, soccer, floor hockey, volleyball, creative arts and leadership - while creating a safe, fun and welcoming environment for participants ages 3 to 17 years.
All Edmonton HFA locations now seeking volunteers
Responsibilities:
• Support and engage with participants during the facilitation of our YMCA child and youth programs.
• Supervise children during activities under the guidance of program staff, helping to manage behavior as needed.
• Assist in ensuring programs start and finish on time.
• Help set up and organize program spaces for activities.
• Work collaboratively with team members to create a positive program environment.
• Follow safety guidelines and assist in maintaining a safe space for all participants.
• Help with sign-in and out procedures for parents, ensuring a smooth process.
• Uphold the philosophy and values of the YMCA Northern Alberta
Qualifications:
• Minimum 16 years of age
• High School Diploma or equivalent is an asset
• Early Childhood development or related experience is an asset
• Certifications: Intermediate First Aid & CPR-C
• Able to obtain a Police Information Check and Vulnerable sector check
