What is the role where you can make an impact?
Quality Manager:
In this role you will be responsible for assuring consistent quality of production and meeting external and internal requirements, including legal compliance, customer expectations, and food safety/SQF requirements. Monitors and advises on the performance of the quality management system by producing data, reporting performance, and measuring results against established standards.
What will you do?
• Develop and maintain a plant-level quality management system, including quality manuals and auditing of practices. Lead validation processes using statistical sampling plans to establish process stability characteristics.
• In collaboration with Manufacturing and R&D, implement design of experiments to improve processes and establish process centerlines.
• Drive plant standards, procedures, and program plans to achieve and maintain required levels of product quality, reliability, and functional validity. This includes supplier programs and audits to ensure consistent quality of critical incoming production supplies and materials.
• Manage plant quality performance measurement systems to promote and implement continuous quality improvement. Establish test protocols; define specifications and calibration methods for test equipment; implement and maintain a Six Sigma program; drive continuous improvement initiatives; and monitor process capability.
• Provide plant employees training on quality assurance and SQF/HACCP topics to improve the employee knowledge base.
• Implement methods, tools, and procedures to test, record, and assess quality. Train personnel in their application to maintain operational quality standards and specifications.
• Plan and coordinate work; train, motivate, monitor, and evaluate the performance of Quality employees; ensure their ability to safely operate testing equipment; and coach, document, and discipline as necessary.
• Manage departmental budgets and business planning and establish and meet department goals and objectives.
• Track, analyze, and lead plant initiatives related to quality and customer complaints, including supplier issues and internal nonconformances. Maintain continuous communication with all plant departments to ensure production and customer service support needs are addressed in a timely manner.
• Manage plant-level SQF, HACCP, and other customer-required programs and manuals, including records for quality checks, testing, and regulatory compliance. Prepare for and support external customer and regulatory audits and perform internal audits to drive continuous improvement.
• Interact effectively with Production and Development teams to maintain product supply and support the introduction of new products.
• Liaise with customer auditors and ensure execution of corrective actions and compliance with customer specifications.
• Prepare clear explanatory documents, including customer and supplier agreements.
• Monitor performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports.
• Manage and maintain the company quality inspection and product release programs for incoming and in-process materials and components, processes, and finished goods.
Leadership:
Provides leadership for the plant Quality Department, including staffing recommendations, work planning and assignment, training, coaching, performance monitoring and evaluation, and employee discipline as necessary, in accordance with organizational policies and applicable requirements.
What skills do you bring to the role?
• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent work experience may be considered.
• 3-5 years of demonstrated experience in Quality Management, and of managing a quality team.
• Thorough technical understanding of quality measurement techniques and associated equipment.
• Has command of proper Six Sigma methodology.
• Computer skills required for data analysis, multiple graphs, reports and charts.
• Good interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
The compensation range for this position $85,000-$105,000 plus annual bonus.
