About this role
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Ability to apply a wide range of casting techniques in accordance with established practices
• Perform cast application and removal by verbally confirming with the patient before beginning the application
• Assesses patient comfort related to casts; assists with comfort measures
• Responsible for sanitization of instruments
• Cleans and stocks cast rooms and exam rooms
• Assists providers' clinical healthcare team as needed
• Maintain a safe clinical environment in accordance with all OSHA guidelines
• Responsible for performing tasks that are within the scope of his/her educational preparation, knowledge, and permitted local, state, and federal guidelines; and the policies of the facility requesting the services.
• Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Ability to work effectively within role independently and with other team members
• Working knowledge of orthopedic terminology and anatomy
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Detail oriented with above average organizational skills
Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Experience in a clinical setting strongly preferred
