What You'll Do As a Tissue Tech Assistant, you will directly contribute to LifeLink's life-saving mission. Responsible for assisting with activities associated with tissue processing. These areas include, but are not limited to debridement, dissection, cleaning, and disinfection, cutting, culturing, and packaging of tissue for transplant.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ability to work in a controlled/regulated manufacturing aseptic clean room environment.
• Ability to comprehend and learn all aspects of aseptic technique.
• Adhere to and document both manually and electronically all processes and functions performed in accordance with processing procedures and protocols.
• Attain basic knowledge and understanding of equipment and instrumentation being used for processing.
• Assist in the preparation of all sterile work areas and supplies needed for various stages of processing.
• Observe environmental conditions and report deficiencies to supervisor.
• Perform post-processing cleaning and decontamination of equipment and areas according to current procedures and protocols.
• Basic knowledge of central services sterilization processes and techniques.
• Attain a thorough understanding of procurement recovery, zoning, and sequencing.
• Learn and understand processes and procedures for various tissue types.
• Ability to circulate for various areas within the processing department.
• Ability to pass random manager, supervisor, and observational audits as necessary to demonstrate competency for the Tissue Tech Assistant position.

• Work requires a High School diploma or equivalent.
• Work requires the ability to work with craftsman type equipment and tooling.
• Demonstrated ability to stand for ninety percent of the work time.
• Work requires the interpersonal ability to interact with fellow staff members, supervisors and management, working in a team environment to achieve goals and deliverables.
• Work requires the visual acuity and manual dexterity necessary to prepare tissue for clinical use in an aseptic manner.
• Demonstrated physical ability to lift, carry and/or move equipment and supplies up to 50 pounds.
• Work requires basic computer skills.
• A collaborator who thrives in a mission-first environment.
Working Conditions:
Extended hours may be necessary during peak processing periods. Working environment temperature may vary from 68 degrees F to 80 degrees F. Hazardous conditions include, but are not limited to, the use of Hydrochloric Acid and Ethyl Alcohol in the work area, the potential of exposure to bodily fluids and the possibility of obtaining cuts and/or punctures to skin from sharp instruments and equipment. All necessary safety equipment and instruction will be provided.
