The Warehouse Manager leads the safe, efficient, and accurate management of Gunther Salt Company's warehouse and inventory processes and activities, including receiving, shipping, freight coordination, dock control, product movement, and staging. This role also owns inventory control and warehousing while upholding quality and regulatory requirements and working cross-functionally across the business.
Accountabilities
• Accountable for warehouse processes and metrics, including receiving, storage, product movement, staging and shipping.
• Owns inventory accuracy and controls across Gunther locations, including cycle counts, physical inventories and reconciliation.
• Plans and coordinates inventory and warehouse activities with production requirements, customer demand and inbound supply.
• Partners with Quality, Supply Chain, Procurement, Sales, Customer Service, Accounting and Operations to meet plant goals and commitments.
• Ensures Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) performance and compliance within areas of responsibility.
Responsibilities
• Maintains accurate inventory records and investigates and resolves inventory variances.
• Develops and manages cycle-count processes and leads month-end and year-end inventory counts.
• Coordinates receiving, storage, transfers, picking, staging and shipment of product.
• Plans and arranges for ordering, receiving and freight coordination for third-party direct-ship and packaged orders while maintaining appropriate separation of duties with the accounting department.
• Monitors warehouse capacity, product placement, and inventory levels and implements inventory flow and warehouse utilization improvements.
• Develops, implements, and maintains world-class business processes, including SOPs and work instructions related to warehouse and inventory activities.
• Coordinates with Operations and Supply Chain on raw material availability, production requirements and inbound product schedules.
• Supports customer returns and manages product disposition when warehouse or inventory involvement is required.
• Identifies process and control gaps, leads continuous-improvement efforts and provides day-to-day direction to warehouse personnel.
Quality & Regulatory
• Evaluates the performance of the Quality Management System (QMS) and recommends/implements improvements and for reporting to top management.
• Ensures the promotion of a customer focused culture throughout the company.
• Ensures that the integrity of the QMS is maintained when changes to the QMS are planned and implemented.
• Maintains quality and regulatory documentation related to product storage, handling, traceability and warehouse activities.
• Supports internal, customer and third-party audits and coordinates follow-up actions within assigned areas.
• Supports product traceability, lot control and segregation of held, returned or nonconforming product.
• Partners with Morton Quality/FSQR on applicable food/feed-grade, customer and regulatory requirements and corrective actions.
Minimum Qualifications
• High school degree or GED required.
• 5 years of experience in warehouse management required.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and SAP, Warehouse Management, Transportation Management systems, Business Warehouse
• Strong commitment to maintain a safe work environment
• Able to prioritize and manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Strong track record for execution and follow-through when managing critical deadlines.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate at various levels internally and externally.
• Strong analytical skills with high level of organization, follow-through, and accuracy. Ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate information with attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree, with preference towards Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or Operations Management.
• Experience in warehouse operations with food-grade products. This includes relevant SOPs, FSQR compliance, hygiene, and sanitation requirements.
