About this role
Responsibilities of a physical therapist assistant include:
• Guiding patients through prescribed exercises
• Helping improve strength, balance, flexibility, and movement
• Using treatments such as heat, cold, massage, or equipment
• Monitoring patients' progress and responses to treatment
• Recording treatment notes and reporting changes to the physical therapist
• Teaching patients how to use mobility aids safely
• Encouraging patients throughout rehabilitation
• Maintaining a clean and safe treatment area
PTAs work under the direction and supervision of a licensed physical therapist.
