Requirements: Experience supporting VMware virtualization platforms in an on-premises infrastructure environment.Good working knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and related infrastructure services.Experience supporting backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes in a business environment.Understanding of networking principles, including VLANs, routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, wireless technologies, and cloud networking concepts.Experience administering or supporting Microsoft 365 services, including SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and Exchange Online.Awareness of or practical experience with Microsoft Azure services, such as virtual machines, storage, networking, identity, monitoring, and backup.Ability to diagnose and resolve technical incidents using structured troubleshooting methods.Good written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear technical documentation.Ability to prioritise workload, manage competing demands, and work effectively independently and as part of a wider IT team.Desirable: Experience with enterprise storage platforms, including SAN or NAS technologies.Desirable: Awareness of IT security controls, vulnerability management, infrastructure patching, and compliance requirements.Desirable: Experience in an ITIL-aligned support or service management environment.Desirable: Relevant technical certifications in VMware, Microsoft, Azure, networking, backup, or infrastructure technologies.Desirable: Experience supporting infrastructure change, migration, modernisation, cloud adoption, or service improvement projects.Desirable: Experience working with hybrid infrastructure spanning on-premises services and Microsoft Azure.Applicants may be required to undertake workforce screening, which may include baseline personnel security checks, National Security Vetting, reference checks, verification of working rights, and a security interview for preferred candidates. Responsibilities: Provide day-to-day operational support for on-premises VMware environments, including virtual machines, hosts, clusters, storage connectivity, and management platforms.Monitor and maintain server, storage, network, wireless, cloud, and infrastructure services to support availability, performance, resilience, and security.Assist with administration and support of Microsoft Azure services, including virtual machines, storage, networking, identity-related services, monitoring, and backup where applicable.Administer and support backup and recovery services, monitor backup jobs, investigate failures, support restores, and assist with routine recovery testing.Provide technical support for LAN, WAN, switching, routing, firewall, VPN, wireless, and Azure networking services.Support Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint Online, within the roles agreed scope.Administer and support SharePoint sites, permissions, document libraries, and standard configuration requests.Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve infrastructure incidents, service requests, and technical problems in line with service levels and operational priorities.Maintain accurate infrastructure documentation, asset information, configuration records, operational procedures, and support knowledge articles.Support infrastructure patching, upgrades, lifecycle management, change activity, and small-scale technical projects across on-premises and cloud environments.Liaise with third-party suppliers, service providers, and internal stakeholders to resolve issues, manage escalations, and support continuous service improvement.Comply with relevant IT policies, change control processes, security standards, and operational procedures.
