Requirements: Proven experience in applied data science or analytics, including leadership or mentoring experienceBachelors, masters, or higher education degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Economics, or a related fieldStrong expertise in marketing analytics, including building Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM) models using Meridian, Robyn, and/or PyMC; multi-touch attribution; and customer lifecycle modelingProficiency in SQL, Python, R, PySpark, and dashboarding tools such as Power BI or LookerExperience running GeoLift tests, causal inference models, and other forms of experimental designSolid foundation in machine learning, statistics, and econometric modeling, with strong analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong communication skills and the ability to translate complex data insights into actionable business strategiesPreferred experience in eCommerce, technology, or marketingStrong Python, SQL, and PySpark skills, considerable knowledge of test design, implementation, and reporting, initiative, and the ability to build strong working relationships Responsibilities: Work closely with marketing teams and agencies to understand challenges and opportunities in eCommerce marketingLead the design, development, and deployment of data science solutions that inform marketing strategy and executionBuild Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM), predictive modeling, lifetime value prediction, churn analysis, marketing attribution, and channel optimization solutionsPartner with marketing stakeholders to test, learn, and optimize campaigns using experimental design and/or causal inference methodsCreate dashboards and data products that enable self-service analytics and real-time insights for marketing teamsDrive data quality, model governance, and documentation standards across the marketing science functionManage end-to-end projects and mentor data scientists Technologies: LookerMachine LearningMarketingPower BIPythonPySparkSQL More:
We are looking for a Lead Data Scientist to join our eCommerce Data Science team at our NEXT Head Office in Enderby, Leicestershire. The role offers a competitive salary starting from £66,000, alongside great benefits. Our eCommerce Data team helps the department and the business understand what is working by analyzing shopping behavior on our site and more broadly. Within Marketing Science, we build data-driven solutions using machine learning, causal inference, and experiment design to measure impact and make recommendations to the business.
