Requirements: Strong experience as a User Researcher within digital or technology programmesExperience planning, conducting and analysing user research independentlyStrong understanding of user-centred design and Agile deliveryExperience working within multidisciplinary teamsConfident conducting usability testing, interviews and other research methodsAbility to turn complex research findings into clear insights and recommendationsStrong stakeholder engagement and communication skillsExperience working with sensitive, complex or high-profile services would be beneficialPrevious Home Office, Central Government or GDS experience would be advantageousUnderstanding of the GDS Service Standard and accessibility requirements would be beneficialActive SC clearance is required for this role Responsibilities: Plan and conduct user research across digital services and productsIdentify user needs, behaviours, pain points and opportunities for improvementDesign and deliver qualitative and quantitative research activities, including interviews, usability testing, workshops and contextual researchAnalyse research findings and translate them into clear, actionable insightsWork closely with Service Designers, Interaction Designers, Product Managers, Business Analysts and delivery teamsSupport iterative design and development by testing concepts, prototypes and live services with usersPresent research findings clearly to delivery teams and senior stakeholdersEnsure research considers accessibility and the needs of users with different levels of digital capabilityMaintain research artefacts and contribute to the wider evidence base across the programme Technologies: SupportUX UI Design More:
We are looking for an experienced User Researcher to support the delivery of digital services within a complex Home Office environment. Our role sits within a multidisciplinary delivery team and supports service areas including Digital Notebooks, Manage Appointment Booking, and Restoring Order & Control. This is a 3-month initial contract at £530/day inside IR35, and active SC clearance is required.
