As an Automation Consultant, you'll help drive quality engineering across Medibank's Customer Enabling Platforms. Working closely with engineering teams, quality specialists and business stakeholders, you'll design and implement scalable test automation solutions that support the delivery of high-quality digital experiences and business outcomes. Key details Role type: Full-time, Permanent Team: Customer Enabling Platforms (D&T) Reporting to: CEP Delivery, Assurance and Release Manager Location: Hybrid working opportunities available Summary This role offers the opportunity to shape how quality is built into our technology solutions from the start. You'll work across customer and business platforms, helping teams adopt modern testing practices, improve automation coverage and support continuous delivery. If you're passionate about quality engineering, enjoy solving complex problems and like collaborating with others to drive better outcomes, this could be a great opportunity for you. What you'll be doing Designing, building and maintaining automated test solutions across customer, application and API platforms. Working with delivery teams to identify test scenarios and translate business requirements into effective automated tests. Supporting end-to-end testing across Customer Enabling Platform business processes. Developing reusable automation components that improve efficiency and consistency across teams. Continuously identifying opportunities to improve test coverage, reliability and execution performance. Integrating automated testing into continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines. Monitoring automation results, investigating failures and recommending improvements. Providing input into delivery planning, testing activities and effort estimation. Sharing knowledge and helping uplift automation capability across the broader team. Working collaboratively with engineers, quality specialists and stakeholders to embed quality engineering best practices. You might already have the skills for this role if you… Have experience designing and implementing automated testing solutions within complex technology environments. Enjoy analysing business requirements and transforming them into meaningful and effective test scenarios. Have hands-on experience using automation tools such as Playwright and developing automation frameworks using Java. Understand modern quality engineering practices, including behaviour-driven development and continuous testing approaches. Have experience working with APIs, automated testing pipelines and tools that support continuous integration and delivery. Build strong relationships with stakeholders, communicate clearly and enjoy collaborating to solve problems and improve outcomes.
