General Purpose of Job: The Regional Community Connect Manager is responsible for playing a vital part in fostering strong relationships with Connect sites, aligning their goals with University of Michigan Health Regional Network’s vision for Community Connect. The Community Connect Manager will collaborate and build relationships internally and externally, working with Connect sites and leaders to identify program priorities and establish supporting goals for success. The Regional Community Connect Manager will collaborate with the Epic Connect Director to oversee operational aspects of the Connect site’s relationship with UM Health, serving as the primary point of contact to ensure effective problem-solving and communication. This position would supervise the Community Connect Business and Financial Analysts. This position requires regular travel to Connect sites to ensure a strong partnership. Essential Duties: This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position. • Relationship Management: Oversees and provides guidance to the primary point of contact for assigned community partners, fostering long-term relationships and ensuring satisfaction. • Operational Support: Rounds on Community Connect Sites regularly to provide on-site or virtual support, analyzing workflows to identify improvements. Working with physicians, nurses, and other connect staff to enhance their use, efficiency, and productivity of the business applications and EMR systems. • Implementation & Optimization: Assists with Epic upgrades, enhancements, integrations, and testing: leads partners through the implementation of new Epic modules. Assists in evaluating systems, preparing end user and functional system requirements, an analysis of alternatives, and implementation of new systems or enhancements to existing ones. Manages project plans, estimates timeframes, outlines specific tasks and identifies resources needed to complete projects on schedule and within budget. Monitors progress to keep projects on track by conducting regular project meetings and following up with areas that need assistance. • Communication & Escalation: Communicates with the Regional Chief Nursing Informatics Officer (and CIO when necessary), keeping him/her informed of problems, concerns, progress on system implementation/changes, policies, etc • Data Analysis and Finance: Manages, monitors, and analyzes data trends related to clinical processes to improve efficiencies along with quality care. Implements service level agreements, monitors and tracks performance against the established metrics and communicates performance to staff and customers on a regular basis • Collaborate with other IT teams on projects, ensuring alignment with overall community connect strategy, Manages and Monitors user’s requests, work orders and vendor issues/tasks are prioritized and completed in a timely and satisfactory manner. Monitors the use of the problem/request tracking software and ensures that assigned staff keeps current documentation on all assigned tasks Ensures the development, implementation, and enforcement of the information system security, disaster recovery, and continuity of operation plans for University of Michigan Health Regional Network information systems. • Administrative Tasks: Manages and oversees contracts, statement of works, collaborates with finance to ensure invoicing and payment process are adhered to, and meeting cadence.
Job Requirements General Requirements • EpicCare Ambulatory Certification preferred Work Experience • Minimum of two (2) years in a professional and information technology leadership position (preferably healthcare focused). • 3-5 years of experience in client management, healthcare operations, or IT consulting with deep knowledge of Epic modules preferably ambulatory. • Experience working in a service-oriented IT environment. • Experience with working with community connect partners in a health care setting preferred Education • High School Diploma or equivalent with 9+ years of experience in health IT. o Or Associate's degree in Information Technology or a related field with 7+ years of experience in health IT. o Or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Healthcare, or other related field with 5 years of experience in health IT, • Master’s degree in Informatics, MBA, Information Technology, or other Healthcare-related field preferred.
