Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Operations Support Specialist to join a busy back-office team. This role is responsible for processing financial transactions, handling administrative tasks, and maintaining accurate records while ensuring compliance with established procedures. This is a non-customer-facing position focused on operational support and data accuracy. Key Responsibilities
• Process and review checks and financial documents for accuracy. • Scan checks and create cash letters using internal systems. • Perform basic balancing and reconciliation tasks. • Handle incoming and outgoing mail processing. • Complete data entry and update records within multiple systems. • Respond to internal requests and support daily operational workflows. • Maintain accuracy while managing varying transaction volumes (approximately 20-100 items per day). • Follow established procedures, service-level agreements (SLAs), and compliance requirements. • Utilize systems such as Microsoft Excel, Symitar, Aperta, and other banking platforms. Required Qualifications
• Minimum of 2 years of administrative, operations, or data entry experience. • Strong computer proficiency and accurate typing skills. • Ability to recognize and work with financial documents, including checks. • High School Diploma or equivalent. • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy. • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills. • Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment. • Strong communication skills with the confidence to ask questions and seek clarification when needed. Preferred Qualifications
• Previous banking, credit union, or financial services experience. • Experience using Symitar or similar banking systems. • Familiarity with check processing, reconciliation, or deposit operations. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Vernon Hills, IL. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
