Job Title: Embedded Software DeveloperJob DescriptionDesign, develop, integrate, and maintain Board Support Package (BSP) software and device drivers for ARM SoC-based Telematics Control Units (TCU) across multiple product generations. You will be responsible for the full embedded software stack, supporting production automotive programs from bring-up through mass production.Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain multi-stage bootloader code for ARM-based SoCs, including DDR initialization, GPIO/PMIC configuration, and hardware-specific bring-up sequences. • Implement secure boot features including fuse configuration, TrustZone integration, image signing, and production-secure key management. • Design and implement trial boot, recovery boot, and A/B bank switching mechanisms for over-the-air (OTA) update reliability. • Configure device tree mappings for hardware variant detection and multi-product support. • Develop and maintain Fastboot OEM commands for manufacturing, diagnostics, and field tooling. • Develop, port, and maintain Linux kernel device drivers for automotive peripherals, and implement and debug power management features. • Integrate and validate chipset vendor patches and service task deliveries, including WLAN, PCIe, USB, and IPA subsystems. • Implement production-secure device lifecycle management including serial number fusing, token-based authentication, and debug access control. • Develop and maintain dm-verity, filesystem integrity monitoring, kernel image signing, and secure OTA update mechanisms. • Maintain and enhance multi-component build systems for bootchain, kernel, and other components. • Leverage AI-powered development tools to accelerate code reviews, identify security vulnerabilities, and refactor legacy code. • Engage with chipset vendor engineering support for SoC-level bug resolution and patch integration. • Investigate and resolve field issues including kernel panics, unexpected wakeups, and stability failures in production fleet vehicles. Essential Skills
• Minimum 5 years of professional embedded software development experience. • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve systemic issues across hardware and software boundaries. • Strong proficiency in C for kernel, bootloader, BSP, and firmware level development. • Experience with Linux kernel driver development including device tree, platform drivers, and interrupt handling. • BS/MS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent. Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Experience with Qualcomm chipsets. • Drive solutions using AI tools such as GitHub Copilot. • Experience with ARM-based SoC bootchain development. • Experience with embedded Linux build systems such as Yocto/OpenEmbedded, and BitBake. • Understanding of hardware interfaces like UART, SPI, I2C, SGMII/RGMII Ethernet, PCIe, USB, GPIO/PMIC. • Experience with secure boot, image signing, and hardware fuse provisioning. • Familiarity with Git-based workflows and tools like Python and UART. • Experience with automotive Ethernet and UEFI/EDK2 bootloader frameworks. • Knowledge of automotive standards like ISO and AUTOSAR concepts. • Experience with NAND/eMMC flash management and partition table design. • Familiarity with production signing infrastructure and HSM integration. • Experience debugging production vehicle issues using crash dumps, kernel logs, and field diagnostics.
