Main duties of the job As a Clinical Associate Psychologist at Springwood Lodge, you will take on a fulfilling role dedicated to delivering high-quality psychological care to individuals with complex mental health needs. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, providing evidence-based assessments, formulations, and interventions in an inpatient setting. Your responsibilities will include working closely with service users and colleagues, managing your own caseload, and conducting psychological assessments informed by NICE guidance. You will have the opportunity to develop clinical skills under the supervision of an experienced HCPC Registered Practitioner Psychologist. Additionally, you will engage in staff training, service development, clinical governance, audits, research, and quality initiatives to enhance the care provided. This role demands resilience, compassion, and the ability to work effectively in emotionally demanding environments, often with individuals experiencing significant psychological distress.

Working under the supervision of an experienced HCPC Registered Practitioner Psychologist, you will have the opportunity to develop your clinical skills while working with individuals presenting with complex psychological and mental health needs. You will use a variety of assessment methods, including psychometric measures, structured observations, and clinical interviews, to develop a comprehensive understanding of service users' needs and inform therapeutic interventions.
As part of the role, you will provide psychological consultation and advice to colleagues, contribute to multidisciplinary discussions, and support psychologically informed care across the service. You will also play an active part in staff training, service development, clinical governance, audits, research, and quality improvement initiatives, helping to shape and enhance the care we provide.
This role requires someone who is resilient, compassionate, and able to work effectively in emotionally demanding environments. You will work with individuals who may experience significant psychological distress, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, substance misuse, and other complex presentations, requiring strong communication, risk assessment, and therapeutic engagement skills.
To be successful in this role, you will need:

Qualified Clinical Associate Psychologist. Experience of working with service users with personality disorders and/or mental health difficulties. Experience of delivering one-to-one psychological interventions. Experience of working within an MDT.
