About this role
Our mission is to enable professional and continuing education throughout life, and to widen access to higher education. We design, deliver and curate a portfolio of world leading short courses and award bearing qualifications in a broad range of disciplines.
The Medicine, Health and Life Sciences Portfolio includes a range of undergraduate and post graduate courses including the Undergraduate Certificate in Ecology and Conservation. The team leads nationally accredited programmes in areas of medicine and health as well as a range of stimulating introductory to level 4 undergraduate courses in the life sciences.
Our activities primarily take place at Madingley Hall (a residential Grade I listed building), which provides facilities for conferences and events, and a full hotel service. Madingley Hall has 13 meeting rooms, 62 ensuite bedrooms, a bar and lounge, set in 8 acres of grounds (including Capability Brown designed gardens).
The Role
To support the further development of the portfolio we are seeking a suitably qualified, enthusiastic team member to undertake the role of Senior Teaching Associate to further Develop our provision in the field of ecology and conservation. This is an exciting opportunity to make a major contribution the advancement of both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in the field. You will need to work collaboratively with colleagues at pace and across the wider university environment to ensure the very highest academic quality and professional standards commensurate with the University of Cambridge's reputation.
You will work collaboratively to develop further provision at undergraduate level to support our current 60 credit, part time, online, level 4 Undergraduate Certificate in Ecology and Conservation. In addition, you will explore opportunities and develop proposals for postgraduate provision at the University of Cambridge institute for Professional and Continuing Education (PACE).
You will have a recognised scholarly profile in the field of ecology and conservation as well as a proven track record in delivering excellent learning and teaching and programme management candidates with experience of designing and delivering programmes for part-time study as well as a commitment to work flexibly to meet the needs of our students are particularly encouraged to apply.
Your skills
Educated to degree level with a PhD in a relevant field Experience of the development and delivery of modules or programmes of study at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level Strong communication skills Experience of co-ordination and support of staff undertaking teaching A collegiate mindset and ability to work collaboratively within PACE and the wider university, with a demonstrable commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive institutional culture
