About the role We are seeking an exceptional Senior Software Engineer / Developer to help solve some of the most complex technical challenges across our platform. This role is suited to a strong engineering-minded problem solver who can analyse difficult problems and connect the dots across the platform of our products, design robust solutions and deliver high quality software. You will play a key role in shaping architecture, improving platform capabilities and supporting future initiatives involving distributed systems, AI-enabled functionality, search technologies and large-scale APIs. Key Responsibilities <ul><li>Design, develop, test and maintain high quality software throughout the full development lifecycle.</li><li>Solve complex technical and architectural challenges using sound engineering principles.</li><li>Contribute to API, backend and cloud platform development using modern Microsoft technologies.</li><li>Collaborate with product, engineering and leadership teams to deliver strategic initiatives.</li><li>Analyse, diagnose and resolve difficult production and performance issues.</li><li>Apply clean code, object-oriented design and software engineering best practices.</li><li>Support technical decision making, code reviews and knowledge sharing across the team.</li><li>Leverage AI tools appropriately to increase effectiveness whilst maintaining quality and ownership.</li><li>Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, scalability and reliability. </li></ul> What we're looking for Essential Requirements <ul><li>Strong professional experience developing software with C# and modern .NET.</li><li>Excellent understanding of software engineering fundamentals, algorithms, system design and problem solving.</li><li>Experience with ASP.NET Core, Web APIs, Entity Framework Core and SQL Server.</li><li>Experience working with Azure services including web applications, functions, databases, event hubs and storage.</li><li>Strong understanding of testing practices, version control and Agile delivery methodologies.</li><li>Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.</li><li>C1 level English proficiency or native-level fluency.</li><li>STEM / Computer Science degree or equivalent evidence of advanced engineering capability and analytical problem-solving skills.</li><li>Ability to work effectively in a fully remote environment.</li></ul> Desirable Experience <ul><li>Search and indexing technologies.</li><li>AI/ML-enabled products or AI-assisted development workflows.</li><li>Distributed systems and scalability optimisation.</li><li>Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.</li><li>REST API documentation, Swagger/OpenAPI.</li><li>Duende Identity Server.</li><li>Source generation in .NET.</li><li>Exposure to frontend technologies, such as React, and full-stack development.</li></ul> What Success Looks Like The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional technical competence, strong communication skills, the ability to break down and solve complex challenges, intellectual curiosity, and a proactive approach to delivering meaningful outcomes for customers and colleagues.
