The Opportunity
Hitachi Energy located in Alamo, TN is seeking a Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician to join its manufacturing team. In this role, the successful candidate will work independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production and facility equipment. The technician will troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to ensure maximum equipment efficiency, reliability, and uptime. All tasks will be performed in compliance with company policies, safety standards, and continuous improvement objectives.

Observe and follow all safety rules and procedures, including Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO), OSHA, MSDS, EPA, and HAZMAT requirementsPerform preventive, predictive, and routine maintenance on production machines and facility equipmentProvide emergency and unscheduled repairs to production equipment to minimize downtimeInstall, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systemsTroubleshoot and repair equipment including motors, transformers, PLCs, VFDs, compressors, chillers, boilers, relays, switches, position-sensing devices, and printed circuit boardsSafely troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair 115V and 480V electrical equipmentRead, interpret, and analyze blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, block diagrams, and technical manualsRun conduit and pull wire for new machines and equipment installationsPerform preventive maintenance and provide recommendations to improve the PM programMonitor and document equipment readings, settings, meters, gauges, and observations as requiredUse common electrical and mechanical tools including multimeters, amp probes, meggers, calipers, micrometers, and dial indicatorsPerform basic machinist duties, plumbing maintenance, and carpentry functionsPerform basic welding and cutting tasks including acetylene torch, plasma, stick welding, and brazingSecure and complete required department work order documentation Maintain housekeeping standards in assigned work areas and general surroundingsWork effectively within a team environment and communicate clearly with production staffPerform other duties as assigned Your background
Associate degree in an engineering discipline or industrial maintenance/electrician certificate from an accredited trade school or 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment failures and implement corrective actions
Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, PLC principles, and industrial controls
