Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Facilities Contracted Services Team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust as an Assistant Facilities Contracts Manager.
This is an ideal role for an ambitious Facilities professional looking to develop their career in contract management within one of the largest NHS Trusts in the UK. You will support the management and monitoring of a diverse portfolio of contracted Facilities services, ensuring that services are delivered safely, effectively and in accordance with contractual requirements, performance standards and Trust objectives.
Working closely with operational teams, contractors and key stakeholders, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring high-quality services that directly support patient care and staff experience across multiple hospital sites.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will:
Support the day-to-day management and monitoring of Facilities contracts and associated in-house services.
Monitor contractor performance against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), service specifications and contractual standards.
Undertake service audits, inspections and compliance checks.
Investigate service issues, identify trends and support improvement initiatives.
Act as a key point of contact for operational contract queries, ensuring issues are escalated appropriately.
Build productive relationships with contractors, clinical teams and operational managers.
Assist with contract review meetings and performance reporting.
Analyse operational and performance data to support informed decision-making.
Support governance, risk management and compliance activities across the service.
Assist with procurement exercises, mobilisation of new contracts and service development projects as required.

Qualifications Essential
*Educated to Level 4 qualification level (e.g. Higher National Certificate (HNC), Certificate in Management Studies, Level 4 Diploma or equivalent) in Facilities Management, Business Administration, Procurement, Contract Management or a related subject, or able to demonstrate an equivalent level of knowledge gained through relevant experience in a contracts, commissioning, procurement, facilities, operational management or business management environment.

*Experience of supporting, administering or monitoring contracts, service level agreements or service specifications. *Experience of coordinating projects, service improvements or action plans. *Experience of procurement administration, including raising purchase orders, maintaining schedules, receipting goods or services, or equivalent financial administration. *Experience of reviewing performance information, audit findings or compliance data and escalating concerns

*Practical working knowledge of contract management processes, service specifications, performance standards and relevant health and safety requirements, with the ability to seek specialist advice where required *A valid driving license
