Job summary
We are delighted to be advertising this Band 7 Clinical or Counselling Psychologist or psychotherapist within our Lewisham CAMHS Core Tier 3 Team (Horizon). This will be a 12month secondment only, You will provide intervention to a caseload of CYP, participate on the team's duty, assessments and MDT meetings.
This role would suit someone who would like to gain experience working at Band 7 level for a years secondment.
We welcome applications from final year Trainee Psychologists and CBT Therapists with provisional accreditation with the BABCP where it looks likely they will achieve their full accreditation within the year (please see person specification).
Main duties of the job
To provide specialist interventions according to discipline including specialist assessment, treatment, planning, implementation and monitoring of outcomes. To contribute to enabling other staff, service users and carers from diverse backgrounds to flourish by working to create a psychologically safe environment. To provide clinical supervision and consultation as appropriate. To promote service evaluation, audit and research. To work as an autonomous professional within registration body guidelines and codes of conduct, and guided by the policies and procedures of the service, taking responsibility for own work including treatment and discharge decisions with support of clinical supervisor

Lewisham Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) provides a diagnostic, assessment, treatment, advisory and consultative service for children and adolescents with emotional and behavioural disorders, including those at high risk or those with more severe and persistent problems. The service's Specialist Multidisciplinary Teams include: Horizon (generic); Neuro Developmental Team; Symbol (Looked After and Adopted CYP); LYPS (severe and enduring mental health problems); ARTS (at risk forensic); Paediatric Liaison Service; MHST (Mental Health in Schools); CWP (Child Wellbeing Practitioners); Intake; and Crisis. Lewisham CAMHS focuses on providing high quality mental health support to young people locally. Job description Job responsibilities
To provide specialist psychological assessments, formulations and interventions for Children and young people according to discipline in the CAMHS. To provide culturally appropriate psychological or psychotherapeutic interventions with carers or families of referred clients when required. To assess and monitor risk and draw up appropriate risk management plans. To provide reports, including relevant formulation, opinion and interventions, in order to inform referrers and, where appropriate, service users and their families. To select and deliver evidence-based specialist therapeutic interventions, drawing from a spectrum of ideas and models, monitoring outcome and modifying and adapting interventions as necessary, based on the highly complex factors concerning historical and developmental processes that have shaped the individual, couple, family or group. To promote psychological support for carers (or families as appropriate) of referred clients. To act as a Care Coordinator taking responsibility for initiating planning and reviewing care plans, CPA co-ordination and meetings.
Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
First level nursing qualification/registration RMN or RSCN or HV or Doctorate level qualification in Clinical or Counselling Psychology or First level qualification in OT, social work, or equivalent or First level qualification in art, play, drama or music therapy with related experience in the psychological aspects of caring for children and adolescent with mental health problems/needs, developmental/ learning disability problems. Or All applicants will require a professional training and relevant CAMHS experience in combination with professional registration with one of the following statutory bodies: the Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC) , Health Professional's Council (HPC/ HCPC), Association of Child Psychotherapists (ACP) or The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) .
Desirable
Qualification in supervision. Qualification in a therapeutic approache commonly used in CAMHS eg PBS, CBT, Family Therapy.
Experience Essential
Experience of working in a multidisciplinary team Prompt and accurate recording on to electronic notes system and an understanding of the need for this Prior experience of Camhs duty. Experience of working therapeutically with children and young people with Neurodevelopmental conditions. Familiarity with therapeutic approaches commonly used in CAMHS eg PBS, CBT, Family Therapy.
Desirable
Experience in undertaking neurodevelopmental assessments- for example assessments for ADHD. Experience facilitating therapeutic groups.
Knowledge Essential
Knowledge and understanding of issues relating to information sharing and confidentiality Understanding of and ability to maintain a safe therapeutic environment. Ability to work in partnership with service users and carers in the planning and delivery of care Ability to maintain effective professional relationships with all team members Ability to work therapeutically with the client group, using a range of therapeutic interventions

Experience facilitating therapeutic groups.
