Job summary
The post will be based in stroke medicine, supporting ward rounds on the stroke unit andacute thrombolysis sessions and sessions in the TIA clinic. On-call commitments are optionaland subject to discussion and agreement with Clinical Director.
This will be supporting themiddle grade acute medicine on call rota. Full details on the on call rota can be provided onrequest, with based to include weekends at a 1:5 frequency and night cover at a 1:15frequency.There is an option of working in Acute Medicine/General Medicine, along with Stroke to offerflexibility and gain experience.
This is a Full-Time post providing with basic hours of 40 hours per week, but applicants wishing towork part-time are also encouraged to apply and rotas will be adjusted accordingly, and bynegotiation with appointees.

Qualifications Essential
MRCP or equivalent Applicants must have Full Registration with the General Medical Council and hold a Licence to Practise

Experience and Achievements Essential
Must have 4 years post graduate experience including 2 years within the Stroke Specialty Must be able to demonstrate a high level of clinical experience and competence in all aspects of the Stroke specialty

Understanding current issues within Stroke and the future direction of the specialty Understanding current issues within the wider NHS Attendance at a recognised management course Shows ability to work with and lead others across professions
Teaching and Training Essential
Experience of and enthusiasm for clinical teaching of postgraduate doctors and non-medical staff.
