Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and enthusiastic nurse to join the Research team at Clinical Research Facility. We welcome applications from experienced nurses with recent knowledge and skills acquired in acute settings, who can demonstrate an understanding of the importance of clinical trials plus a genuine interest and commitment to the specialist role of the research nurse. The job entails assisting the existing Research team in clinical and administrative activities related to delivery of clinical trials, from initiation to termination, in accordance with International Council for Harmonisation and Good Clinical Practice guidelines (ICH-GCP).
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to work at the Clinical Research Facility (CRF) based at the St Stephens Centre, located next to the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in Fulham Road, London. This is a fixed term (maternity cover) Band 5 post that offers the candidates the opportunity to enhance their career in clinical research. The post holder is expected to ensure that all research processes are in accordance within the remits of research guidelines. The safety and well being of the study participant is paramount at all times. The post holder will help with the delivery of a diverse portfolio of clinical trials spanning cardiology, respiratory, HIV & sexual health, gastroenterology and more. While being mainly based at the Chelsea CRF, the postholder may also help out with the trials running at our satellite clinics in Hammersmith Broadway, Dean Street and West Middlesex Hospital in Hounslow.

Job description Job responsibilities
The post holder will assist under the guidance of more experienced colleagues with the set-up, maintenance, and close down of clinical studies in accordance with local, national and international legislation within various clinical areas. The post will entail assessing patients suitability, ensuring informed consent is obtained, and performing study visits, observations, and clinical procedures such as monitoring vital signs, body measurements, height and weight, ECGs, venepuncture, cannulation, drug administration with the participants in accordance with the procedures and schedule of the study protocol.
