Are you enthusiastic, professional, reliable, and highly motivated? If so, we have an exceptional opportunity for you to join our Haematology and Transfusion team at our busy general hospital! We are currently seeking a Trainee Biomedical Scientist to join our dynamic team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
Join us and you'll be based in the state-of-the-art facilities of the Haematology and Blood Transfusion department or Clinical Chemistry Department at King's Mill Hospital.
To be eligible for this role, it is essential that you hold an HCPC accredited Biomedical Sciences degree. Unfortunately, applicants without an accredited degree or those requiring top-up modules will not be considered for an interview.
PLEASE NOTE ALL INTERVIEWS MUST BE FACE TO FACE.
At the conclusion of the 12 months, you will have successfully completed the registration portfolio and the external assessment, making you eligible to apply for HCPC registration. This opens up a world of opportunities in the field of Biomedical Sciences, unlocking your potential for professional growth and development.
It's important to note that while we invest in your training and development, we cannot guarantee a substantive post will be available at the end of the 12 months. However, we believe that the experience gained during this period will be an excellent foundation for your future career.

Qualifications Essential
Possess an HCPC accredited degree
Knowledge Essential
Some knowledge of laboratory investigations, processes and procedures Knowledge of laboratory safety, including infectious diseases, COSHH, spillages, waste disposal Computer and keyboard skills together with experience of common software packages Ability to work accurately from written protocols
Further Training Essential
Prepared to follow in service training course
Experience Essential
Capable of frequent and extended periods of concentration Ability to work accurately and to show attention to detail Good verbal and written communication skills
Desirable
Experience of working in a Diagnostic Laboratory
Contractual Requirements Essential
Willingness to work with potentially infectious substances (with appropriate H&S guidance) Demonstrably able to cope with workload peaks and demands or other pressures
