Job summary
We are looking for a Treatment room nurse to join our friendly and supportive practice in South Bristol close to the bustling harbourside and vibrant North Street.
Hours: Full time fixed term contract maternity leave cover. Expected contract length 6 months.
Flexible on days worked. 37.5 hours a week worked 3x 9.5 hour days 1x 9 hours.
Bridge View Medical is an established practice and Primary Care Network in its own right. About us
We are a 14 Partner and 26 Salaried GP practice, supported by a large team of Pharmacists (all prescribers), Physios, Paramedics, Dietitian, Physician Associate, ANPs, Nurses and HCAs. Most visits are carried out by our extended clinical team which includes our ANPs, Paramedics and Nurses.
We have dedicated admin support including a docman team and a pharmacy hub for prescription queries together with an excellent team of Care Coordinators responsible for triaging and patient bookings.
We are rated "Good" by CQC in all areas and rated "Excellent" as a training practice.

Job description Job responsibilities
To provide nursing care to patients in participation with GPs or independently, working to agreed protocols. Required skills (or a willingness to be trained) may include the following (but this list is not exhaustive):
Vaccinations (with additional paediatric vaccination certification an advantage)Wound care management (including compression bandaging, in line with current evidence-based guidelines)Ear irrigationRoutine immunisations and vaccinations given under a Patient Group DirectionCervical Screening Management of Long-Term Conditions such as asthma, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), diabetesContraceptive pill checks / sexual health
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide emergency care to patients as necessary and attend annual Basic Life Support and Anaphylaxis trainingChaperoning and assisting, where appropriate, patients who are being examined.Undertake the collection, storage and dispatch of pathological specimens including intravenous blood samples, swabs, smears etc and ensure the cleanliness of any equipment used, as per policyAssisting in the implementation and management of appropriate health and safety and infection control policies, as defined in local and national policesContributes to management of stock and ordering stock where requiredContributes to management of medicines and vaccines as per policyTo recognise and appreciate that people, both colleagues and service users are different and to act in ways that are consistent with their needs and preferencesTo ensure that all mandatory training is completed as appropriate and does not become outstanding

Experience Essential
Experience of working in teams within a clinical setting Willing to undertake training relevant to the position Accountable to own professional development and performance and act as a role model to others

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of the wider multi-disciplinary team Enthusiastic and motivated to learn new clinical skills where currently not trained
