DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE OUTSIDE FOREMAN • Overseeing of all operations, promoting operating efficiency and maintain of commodity quality, including Specialty Grain & By-product Procedures • Oversees all employee activity including a complete understanding of the hourly employee handbook or contract and all work and safety rules. • Oversees all contract labor activity • Ensure safe working environment for all employees by enforcing all safety rules and procedures. • Responsible for filling out this facilities permits(hot work, compressed air, confine space, entry into grain storage structures, lockout/tagout) • Assist in the training of employees and contractors and making sure they are trained on various task before they begin work. • Coordinate rail activity and truck loadouts or other outside activity. • Responsible for completing the daily housekeeping inspection report and signing off in proper place. • Ensure that the housekeeping in the plant is compliant • Responsible for obtaining from the departments: bobcat reports, barge crew cleanness reports and barge condition reports • Make sure timecards are properly filled out daily. • Schedule hourly employees vacation (make sure shift is covered) • Assist in coordinating manning crews for unscheduled maintenance problems. Also communicate with shift superintendent, and coordinating labor parts. • Assist in quality control of grain as needed • Check grain in basement, communicate with control room and check daily for leaks that could cause co-mingling • Aflatoxin & Starlink testing • Communicating problem areas or mechanical problem to Shift Superintendent, relief foreman, and Assistant Superintendent. • Conduct weekly Safety Audits. DUTIES DURING AN EMERGENCY • Pick-up an employee schedule, contractor’s log and visitors log and proceed to the assembly area (Oak Tree by the Main Office OR Old rail lot on the west end) to account for all persons at the facility • Notify the Assistant Superintendent of his findings on the head count • Give no statements to the media Before applying for an exempt, non-exempt or hourly job opportunity, you are expected to initiate a discussion and share your intentions with your supervisor. * If you’ve been in your current position for more than 18 months, supervisor approval is not required. * If you’ve been in your current position for less than 18 months, verbal supervisor approval is required. : Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
