To give you an idea of the team structure, you will work on a team which will interact with all levels of the accounting and finance department as well as various cross functional teams within the organization (Operations, HR, Recruiting, and IT) to develop, document, and perform accounting controls. This position will report to the Operational Expendetures Accounting Manager. As the Senior Financial Accountant, your duties and responsibilities will include: · Ensure transactions within operating expense areas are recorded in accordance with GAAP and established accounting policies · Prepare and analyze monthly balance sheet account reconciliations · Perform fluctuation analysis of expenditures on a monthly basis · Actively assist in the development of expanded month end and quarterly checklists. · Prepare documentation of control policies and procedures for the Accounting & Finance team. · Participate in the planning, development, and implementation of process or system improvements as they relate to Accounting and Finance team. · Become a subject matter expert with the various financial and analytical tools utilized by the Accounting and Finance team. · Analyze process breaks or gaps and determine best methodology for moving forward.
