AI Transformation Product Intern
Job Description: As the AI Transformation Product Intern, you will work to explore how AI can improve the experiences we create for customers and employees. Your projects will vary across the summer, but expect a mix of research, gathering input from users and partner teams, helping shape ideas and sharing recommendations. We're looking for someone with an entrepreneurial mindset: curious, comfortable when the path isn't mapped out and proactive about where AI could make things better. If learning in a space that's still taking shape sounds exciting to you, you'll enjoy this internship.
This internship will also provide you with the opportunity to develop industry-related skills in a professional environment, build your network with Best Buy employees, and explore a wide range of career paths.
This internship will be available from June to August 2027. This role is hybrid, which means you will be required to work on site Monday through Thursday at the Best Buy corporate office in Richfield, Minnesota. You can work virtually from home or another non‑Best Buy location on Friday. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.
This internship does not have the potential to lead to a full-time opportunity. This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.
Internal Best Buy employees: a limited number of company-sponsored summer housing slots are available near corporate headquarters for hybrid/in-person roles for current Best Buy employees.
What you’ll do • Support initiatives that apply AI to customer or employee experiences. • Help research user needs and gather input from partner teams. • Experiment with new AI tools and share what works with your team. • Help document requirements, findings and recommendations. • Present your work and what you learned to team members and leaders. Basic qualifications • Must be pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, graduating between fall 2027 and spring 2030 • Must be able to work in the Richfield, MN corporate office 4 days a week, Monday through Thursday • Must be able to work 40 hours a week Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:00am-5pm (Central Time) • Must be able to commit to the internship start and end date of 5/31/2027- 8/6/2027 Preferred qualifications • Pursuing a degree in business, product, analytics, engineering or a related field • Exposure to product, project or research work through coursework, clubs or a prior internship • Interest in, or some experience with, AI tools and how they can be applied • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Comfort with ambiguity, shifting priorities and new ways of working What’s in it for you
