ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Center Electrical Engineer to join our Design & Engineering department. This role contributes to the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems across DATA4’s portfolio of data center projects.

The Electrical Engineer will support the delivery of electrical infrastructure solutions throughout the project lifecycle, from concept design through construction and commissioning. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, internal departments, contractors and consultants, the role ensures that electrical systems meet project requirements, industry standards, operational objectives and sustainability targets.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design:

• Support the design and development of electrical systems for DATA4 data center projects in accordance with company standards and design guidelines.

• Participate in the design and development of conceptual and detailed electrical systems for new and existing data centers.

• Analyze power requirements to optimize efficiency and reliability, considering overall data center needs and long-term goals.

• Prepare and review electrical engineering deliverables including calculations, technical specifications, load assessments, single-line diagrams and design reports.

• Assist in the selection and specification of electrical equipment based on project requirements, industry best practices and sustainability considerations.

• Coordinate with mechanical, ICT, controls, and other engineering disciplines to ensure integration of electrical systems.

• Implementation and Construction:

• Support project delivery teams during the implementation of new and upgraded electrical systems.

• Participate in technical reviews during procurement, construction, commissioning and handover phases.

• Review contractor submittals, shop drawings and technical documentation.

• Assist in identifying and resolving technical issues arising during construction and commissioning activities.

• Collaborate with contractors and internal teams to ensure smooth construction and installation of electrical components.

• Support site inspections and witness factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT) when required.

• Technical Expertise and Representation:

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, best practices and emerging technologies related to data center electrical infrastructure.

• Contribute technical solutions aimed at improving performance, reliability, efficiency and sustainability.

• Provide technical support to project, construction and operations teams on electrical matters.

• Participate in troubleshooting activities and root cause analyses of electrical incidents or equipment failures.

• Attend technical meetings with internal and external stakeholders and contribute to discussions on electrical engineering topics.

• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across the organization.

• Continuous Improvement:

• Support initiatives to improve engineering standards, design processes and technical documentation.

• Contribute to the evaluation and implementation of new technologies and engineering best practices.

• Analyze operational and project data to identify opportunities for optimization and continuous improvement.

• Participate in lessons-learned exercises and knowledge-sharing activities across the engineering team.

REQUIREMENTS

• Education and experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably within data centers, mission-critical facilities or other critical infrastructure environments.

• Experience participating in electrical design projects from concept through construction and commissioning.

• English: fluent

• Technical skills

• Experience on electrical Systems and discipline (distribution, backup systems & strategies, standards, discrimination study and calculations ).

• Strong understanding of data center power distribution, load balancing and failure scenarios

• Experience with commissioning and startup of data center electrical systems.

• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent.

• LEED AP certification or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.

• Experience with data center infrastructure management software (DCIM) focusing on electrical systems.

• Experience with project management methodologies and best practices.
