Visa's Sophomore Internship Program offers a 12-week immersive experience where you'll work on impactful projects that advance Visa's mission. As a Visa Sophomore intern, you'll build meaningful connections, strengthen your communication and business skills, and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, global environment.
You'll have access to interactive workshops and learning sessions designed to build expertise, expand industry knowledge, and elevate your professional skills. You'll not only learn, you'll contribute, collaborate, and innovate. Beyond professional development, enjoy social events that foster community and connection.
The program culminates in a final presentation, where you'll share your project achievements and recommendations with Visa leaders-a chance to demonstrate impact and growth.
As a Sophomore intern program Software Engineer Intern, you will contribute to Visa's technology teams by taking on meaningful work aligned with your passions and career goals.
Some job duties and projects could include: Self-serve deployment of Kafka clusters using Docker and KubernetesDeveloping a natural language Chatbot for knowledge base searchesPrototyping solutions for automated payments at gas stationsAutomating processes using low latency algorithmsEnhancing Visa Checkout usability across platformsCreating testing tools to identify system errorsBuilding visual monitoring tools to detect transactional issuesDesigning, coding, and testing software solutions for routing digital currency transactionsDeveloping an app factory for mobile banking appsSupporting full software lifecycle activities and learning secure coding practices

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications: Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, CIS/MIS, Cybersecurity, Business or a related fieldGraduating December 2028 - August 2029Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in writing and verbally
Preferred Qualifications: Proficiency in one or more languages: Java, C/C++, C#, .NET, Python, JavaScript, HTMLExperience with automation/testing tools such as Selenium, REST, Python, GroovyFamiliarity with software testing principlesStrong understanding of software engineering concepts and methodologiesAbility to document processes and perform analysisProblem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to lead and handle ambiguity effectivelyCollaborative and team-oriented mindsetMotivated, resourceful, and focused on achieving results

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated hourly range for a new hire into this position is $39 to $46 which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
