Job Summary As a Project Controller at Hitachi, Ltd., you will play a critical role in ensuring the financial health and successful delivery of our projects. You will be responsible for overseeing project budgets, forecasts, and financial performance, providing crucial insights and support to project managers and stakeholders.
How you'll make an impact
Develop, monitor, and control project budgets, ensuring alignment with project scope and company financial objectives.Prepare and analyze project financial forecasts, identifying potential risks and opportunities.Track project actuals against budget and forecast, explaining variances and recommending corrective actions.Generate comprehensive financial reports, including profit and loss statements, cash flow projections, and cost-to-complete analyses.Collaborate with project managers to establish robust project financial plans and track key performance indicators (KPIs).Perform financial risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for projects.Ensure compliance with internal financial policies, procedures, and relevant accounting standards.Support project audits and provide necessary documentation and explanations.Contribute to the continuous improvement of project control processes and tools.Communicate financial performance effectively to project teams, senior management, and other stakeholders. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.3+ years of experience in project controlling, financial analysis, or a similar role, preferably within a large multinational corporation or a project-based environment.Strong understanding of project management principles and financial accounting concepts.Proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting techniques.Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas).Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and project management software is a plus.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely.Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and integrity.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
