Fuss & O’Neill, a leading New England-based consulting firm, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our growing MEP team. This is an exciting opportunity for a mechanical engineer with HVAC consulting experience to take on increasing responsibility across a diverse range of building projects while working alongside experienced engineers and multidisciplinary project teams. The Mechanical Engineer will focus primarily on HVAC engineering and design , with opportunities to contribute to plumbing and energy-efficiency projects. This position combines technical design and analysis with field investigations and construction support, providing the opportunity to work across multiple phases of project delivery. Develop HVAC designs and engineering solutions for commercial, institutional, and other building projects, including load calculations, equipment sizing, and technical analysis. Create and update mechanical drawings and models using AutoCAD and Revit , coordinating designs with architectural, structural, electrical, and other disciplines. Conduct weekly field investigations and site visits, and support construction administration through site observations, submittal reviews, RFIs, and related project activities. Manage assigned design tasks independently while collaborating with senior engineers on technical decisions, quality control, and final design review. Prepare calculations, specifications, technical reports, and project documentation while applying applicable codes and standards, including IBC, IMC, ASHRAE, NFPA, and IECC . Communicate effectively with project teams, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders, while supporting plumbing and energy-efficiency projects as opportunities arise.
