We are currently accepting applications from students for our four month Model Builder Co-op Position , beginning January of 2027 . The position will be located at our Guelph Office. As a Model Builder Co-op, you will support RWDI’s Model Shop by constructing physical scale models used for environmental testing in our three Guelph wind tunnels. These models play a critical role in simulating and studying real-world conditions. In this hands-on role, you will: Build intricate cityscapes at scales typically ranging from 1:300 to 1:400 Work with foam and a wide range of other model-making materials to create accurate, durable components. Interpret technical drawings, building references, and photographs to ensure precision and realism in each model. Use a variety of hand tools and shop equipment to cut, shape, and assemble model elements. Collaborate with a skilled team to produce models that directly support engineering and environmental analysis. This position is ideal for someone who: Enjoys working with physical materials and building things by hand. Has strong attention to detail and takes pride in accuracy and craftsmanship.
