About this role
The Buyer will be responsible for supporting the purchasing needs of our manufacturing operation, including:•Source, evaluate and manage suppliers for materials, components, services and plant requirements.•Research and identify new vendors, both locally and internationally, as purchasing needs evolve.•Request and compare quotations, considering price, specifications, quality, lead times, payment terms and reliability.•Negotiate pricing, terms and purchasing conditions with suppliers.•Develop a thorough understanding of the materials, components and products being sourced.•Read, interpret and compare product specifications, material specifications, drawings and technical information when applicable.•Work closely with manufacturing and other departments to understand how purchased products are used and what characteristics are critical to performance.•Build and maintain organized purchasing profiles for sourced products, including specifications, approved vendors, quotations, pricing,
