About this role
The Opportunity As Health & Safety Manager, you will provide health and safety leadership to a team of Advisors and deliver compliance advice to operational management. You will support the team in achieving safety excellence and maximising company safety performance through audit, engagement, training, investigation, and continuous improvement. This permanent full-time position is primarily based in Newcastle 2300. This role is 80% field based, and you will be managing the east coast across the NSW and QLD region. What's on offer Diverse and multifaceted role Competitive base salary + car allowance with fuel and toll cards Amazing career progression and development opportunities Opportunity to be a key player in the national leadership structure for a truly global organisation Opportunity to tap into a broader network of knowledge from peers across other states and countries What you'll be responsible for Guide subordinate advisors to deliver approved functional requirements and ensure organisational direction Conduct inspections, audits, and monitoring to ensure operations meet company, client, and legislative requirements; communicate regulatory changes Develop and maintain SHEQ management plans and support implementation of the Business Management System across operations Execute injury prevention programs, safety training, drug/alcohol testing, risk assessments, incident investigations, and foster a safety-first culture through toolboxes and interactions Track SHEQ effectiveness through statistical analysis, maintain audit records, identify high-risk factors, and provide quantitative/qualitative reports demonstrating continuous improvement What you'll need to be successful Formal qualifications in OH&S or extensive industry experience in a similar OH&S position Extensive experience from either transport and logics sector, construction, resources or other heavy industries Certificate IV in workplace training and assessing (desired) Auditing qualification and experience (Lead Auditor is desirable) Current Driver’s Licence ICAM Investigation training Why Veolia?
